Naval aircrew from several squadrons aboard NAS Jax trained during the past few weeks at Aviation Survival Training Center (ASTC) Jacksonville to refresh their aircraft emergency procedure skills.
ASTC is one of eight facilities around the country that is tasked to provide safe and effective survival training for aviators and aircrew. Training includes classroom lectures and simulators in a curriculum that emphasizes hands-on exposure to survival skills in a realistic, yet safe, environment.
