More than 200 volunteers from NAS Jax and tenant commands participated in the annual NAS Jax Shoreline Cleanup May 29 at Mulberry Cove Marina. The event filled a large, 20-yard dumpster with trash and debris from the 5.1 miles of base shoreline along the St. Johns River.
The day began with a safety brief by Gregg Gillette of the NAS Jax Safety Office who emphasized the importance of staying hydrated in the muggy, hot conditions.
