Two rescue swimmers and a pair of simulated survivors from HSM-72 took part in a May 22 exercise over the St. Johns River. The training was designed to keep aviation rescue swimmers and pilots proficient in search and rescue (SAR) situations over water.
The NAS Jax Boathouse, a division of Air Operations, assisted HSM-72 in the training evolution with their 40-foot, twin-diesel SAR boat.
